PTSD: Churches aid soldiers with post-traumatic stress disorder

Reboot is part of a movement among churches and religious groups to help veterans recover from PTSD. The movement’s leaders say veterans need medical care and professional counseling to recover, but spiritual care should be part of the equation.

Brannom knows firsthand the toll military life can take on families. Her husband and stepson left in June for active duty in Afghanistan with the Tennessee National Guard. It’s her husband’s second deployment in four years.

She knows her husband has been shot at during his deployment but doesn’t know whether he has shot back. Pressing for more details isn’t helpful.
